Please review the complete rehearsal schedule with your students and families.

With only a few rehearsals, students are expected to practice independently and attend every rehearsal unless an emergency arises.

Responsibilities
Audition Process

Encourage eligible students to audition

Review the audition requirements

Help students prepare the appropriate music

Confirm students have completed registration

Verify each recording

Upload all student auditions before the deadline.
High School Strings - Students may submit their Colorado All-State/Western States audition recording in place of the PPHO audition recording

Rehearsals/Event

Attend and participate in PPHO meetings/emails

Assist with rehearsals, sectionals, or concert operations
​​Sign-up information will be provided following auditions.

Supervise your own students at each rehearsal and the performance (or arrange for another adult to do so if you are unable to attend)

Prepare and record an MP3 audition

Submit the recording to their school music director

If Selected for PPHO...

Pay the $50 participation fee by the first rehearsal

​Payment is accepted by cash or check ONLY (payable to Pikes Peak Honor Orchestra)

Prepare for rehearsals through personal practice and listening to recordings

Arrive at rehearsals prepared with your instrument, music, and pencil - with enough time to be tuned and in your seat before the downbeat

Demonstrate respect for conductors, clinicians, staff, volunteers, and fellow musicians

Represent your school positively

Participate actively in rehearsals/sectionals

Attend all rehearsals, sectionals, and the concert
**Because rehearsal time is limited, absences should only occur in cases of illness or emergency**

The success of the Pikes Peak Honor Orchestra depends on every student being fully prepared and present.

Students and families should carefully review the rehearsal schedule before auditioning. By submitting an audition, students are making a commitment to attend all rehearsals and the concert, practice their music independently, and contribute positively to the ensemble.
