Do I need to register as a director every year, even if I've participated before?

Yes. Registration is required each season, whether it's your first year or your tenth — the registration form asks directly whether it's your first time participating, so returning directors go through the same short process to confirm current contact info.

I'm a first-time PPHO director. Where do I start?

Start with the 2027 Director Guide, which walks you through the full process, then complete Director Registration. You'll need your name, email, cell number, school, district, and whether you direct middle school, high school, or both.

Who is eligible to audition for PPHO?

Middle school string students, high school string students, and high school band students are eligible to audition for PPHO. Students MUST be enrolled in their school music ensemble and the director must be willing to participate in rehearsals and the event.
